Cuddlemania!!!

Hello all! It’s the one and only Jessica, Queen of Cuddles, here!  Okay, Jessie to you!  Now, those of you who have read my previous posts will know that I have a love of life.  Everything is so interesting and I like to throw myself into everything.  Now, some of you may describe this as being excitable.  It’s up to you.  So, those of you who keep up with my blog, may be surprised to hear that my tail is wagging gently.  Yep, as a faithful reader of my life and loves; you might be forgiven for thinking something along the lines of ‘Hello, what’s going on here then?’ or ‘Call the vet quickly, Jessie must be feeling under the weather!’  No need, no need.  Do not fear!  It’s just the case that even a young doggie adventurer like me has to relax and contemplate the doggie universe now and then.  Especially when it’s hot out there.  Yes, it will come as a surprise to many that there are few minutes in the course of my life when I am not running around like a running around thing.  Reader, please put away your disbelief.  Occasionally, I can be less active and more thoughtful and relaxed.  Yes, relaxed.  Or, should that be ‘relaaaaaaaaxxxxxxxxxxxed’?  In fact, I think ‘chillaxed’ is the current popular phrase.  ‘How! When! Why!  In which universe would you be anything other than your excitable go-getting self?’ I can feel you asking.  Well be patient my Jessie-news hungry readers and I will tell all.  Give me a chance and nothing will be left to the imagination, dear readers.  You see, while you’ll know that I’m rather keen on the important things in life: my food, my tennis balls, going walkies, treats and anything else that is great, I’m also very keen on…wait for it:

CUDDLING!!!!!! Well, I s’pose the title of this blog post might have given the game away.  But, yes world, I’m a second-to-none world-class cuddler,  A cuddler and proud of it!  There! Now you know,  In fact, of an evening – after walkies and evening meal, of course – there’s not much else I prefer than ‘a-cuddlin’ with my humans.  I like a-cuddlin’ in the winter when keeping the cold away is a priority, especially when it’s as cold as the last one was.  But, even in the baking heat of the last month or so, I still like squeezing up to my humans.  When I’m sitting in-between them I tend to favour one (you know, I put my head on one lap and so on) and after a while transfer my special attention to the other.  In addition to making them feel loved, it also keeps them out of mischief.  ‘Arise Dame Jessie’.  Surely it’s only a matter of time, isn’t it?  There must be a gong for doggies, ‘Same of the British Doggie Biscuit’ or something like that?

Anyway back to the matter in paw (or hand, if you’re a human).  Now, there will be those of you who think that cuddling is easy, no skill required.  Oh dear, tut, tut, how wrong you are.  Now, consider me, for example.  Yes, plenty of natural talent, made for cuddling and all that.  But do you think that’s enough?  Of course not.  As I mentioned earlier there’s a technique for great cuddling: the curling of the body; when I’m not giving them the tender look, I’m looking like I’m about to nod off.  And, of course, sometimes the cuddling get so comfortable that I DO nod off.  A sign of great cuddling, don’tcha know?  there’s nothing like nodding off while cuddling before going to my bed and having an all night sleep.  Cuddling even has its own philosophy, ‘I cuddle.  Therefore, I am’ is a famous saying of mine.  Or, at least it will be famous now.  Every evening – without fail – practice, practice, practice.  I’m cuddling away until my two know they’ve been cuddled.  I find the staring into their eyes also does the business and melts their hearts.

Make no mistake.  There may be millions of ‘good’ cuddlers out there.  I strive to be a great cuddler.  In fact, the greatest cuddler!  The cuddler’s cuddler.  The cuddler who takes cuddling to another level.  No amount of effort to become a cuddle artist is enough.  On the cuddle-o-meter scale, where zero means ‘ a rubbish cuddler’ and ten means an ‘excellent cuddler’  I’m 11!  That’s one more than an ‘excellent cuddler’ (Geddit!?).

So, now that I have convinced you how cuddling is, and – of course – how good I am at it, get a-cuddlin’!  I want to see a world of Cuddlemaniacs!  And you can guess what I’ll be doing after I’ve had my evening walkies and meal….

Love (and plenty of cuddles).

Jessie, Queen of Cuddlemania, x

P.S.  I found my humans to cuddle in our forever home by way of Battersea Dogs and Cats Home.  If you’re interested in giving a loving home a loveable doggie cuddlemaniac, checkout their website at http://www.battersea.org.uk .  There are also a lot of other organisations who look after doggies who’ve had a bit of bad luck.  Sadly, too many to mention here.  But they also have a lot of cuddlemaniacs who want to have forever homes with humans to cuddle.
