Cuddlemania!!!

Hello all! It’s the one and only Jessica, Queen of Cuddles, here!  Okay, Jessie to you!  Now, those of you who have read my previous posts will know that I have a love of life.  Everything is so interesting and I like to throw myself into everything.  Now, some of you may describe this as being excitable.  It’s up to you.  So, those of you who keep up with my blog, may be surprised to hear that my tail is wagging gently.  Yep, as a faithful reader of my life and loves; you might be forgiven for thinking something along the lines of ‘Hello, what’s going on here then?’ or ‘Call the vet quickly, Jessie must be feeling under the weather!’  No need, no need.  Do not fear!  It’s just the case that even a young doggie adventurer like me has to relax and contemplate the doggie universe now and then.  Especially when it’s hot out there.  Yes, it will come as a surprise to many that there are few minutes in the course of my life when I am not running around like a running around thing.  Reader, please put away your disbelief.  Occasionally, I can be less active and more thoughtful and relaxed.  Yes, relaxed.  Or, should that be ‘relaaaaaaaaxxxxxxxxxxxed’?  In fact, I think ‘chillaxed’ is the current popular phrase.  ‘How! When! Why!  In which universe would you be anything other than your excitable go-getting self?’ I can feel you asking.  Well be patient my Jessie-news hungry readers and I will tell all.  Give me a chance and nothing will be left to the imagination, dear readers.  You see, while you’ll know that I’m rather keen on the important things in life: my food, my tennis balls, going walkies, treats and anything else that is great, I’m also very keen on…wait for it:

Yes, it’s Celebration Time for Jessie and Her Humans!

Hello all, it’s Jessie! After all, who else would it be? It is my blog after all! Yes, yes, yes! I know that I’ve been slow writing the old posts of late but it’s busy, busy, busy! I’ve hardly got a moment to myself. All those snoozes won’t happen on their own, you know? I have to be there to take them. Then there’s the walkies, the going to the seaside, the meeting and greeting and so on. Now, don’t sulk. After all, I’m here now for your pleasure, aren’t I? You do know that I love you all and I do put a post on the blog whenever I can. I mean I don’t just throw these blog posts together. I get my man human to throw them together… the creative process and all that. Annnnnywaaaaayyy, I’ve got my – not only excited – but also happy tail on today. The tip of my tail is actually doing circles in the air. No, really it is. The reason why? You see, today is a day of celebration in our household. Now, you know I don’t like fuss but my humans insisted on getting the bunting out and on having marching bands go past our home. There’s also something about keys to the city and honorary doctorates. You see, according to my humans who understand about times and dates – or, so they say they do it is two years to the day since I came to live with my humans in my forever home.

My (Jessie, that is) Fitness Regime!!!

Hello all, its Jessie here.  Have I got my excited tail on today?  You betcha!  But not only that, as I ‘SIT’ by my man human dictating this post while he types away on his computer keyboard, I’m wearing my retro-1980s Olivia Newton-John style ‘Let’s Get Physical’ gym workout headband on my head (where else?  Of course).  Cor!  That’s a very, very long sentence for me to have to say.  Especially as humanspeak isn’t even my first language.  You might be surprised to hear that as I speak it so fluently.  Clever little doggie, I think you’ll agree.  After all, in my native tongue, all I would I have to say is ‘Woof!  Woof!’ a few times, take a couple of sniffs here and there and all my doggie chums would instantly get the picture.  Much easier.  But I wouldn’t want to deprive my human readers of my news and views.  Most of them live for my latest blog post and who am I to question their excellent taste.  Look, I’m getting quite parched here with all this dictation.  Excuse me for a mo’ while I visit the ol’ water bowl for a refreshing bit of the clear, cool, wet stuff to lubricate the throat.  Slurp, slurp, slurp, slurp, slurp and a further sllluuuuuuuuuurrrrrrrrrrrp for good measure.  Mmmmmmmmmm……… a January 2013, I think, straight from the cold tap and served at room temperature.  A very fine vintage indeed!  My compliments to the chef, or whoever makes the water at this excellent establishment.  Anyway.  Good!  I’m back with my man human and his computer.   Now, pray let me continue…

Jessie’s First Ever Blog Post!

Hello, my name is Jessie.  I’ve lived with my two humans now for over 365 sleeps now.  I think that’s just over a year in human speak.  My two are okay and not bad to live with.  Thankfully, they aren’t too stupid and they  are open to being trained.  Obviously, I have to be patient and gentle with them and – I’m happy to say – we’re getting results.  They are learning to let me off the lead a lot more so that I can stretch my legs a bit.  The deal is that I have to go back to them when they call me.  Fair enough!  My two have also learnt that, if I’m going to ‘heel’ when we go for walkies, they need to be less protective of the doggie treats.  A lot, lot, lot less protective.  I want more, more, more treats!  The very health conscious amongst you need not worry.  I like to exercise very, very much so I burn off the calories.  I’m as fit as fiddle.  In fact, modesty prevents me from saying that I look in excellent shape.  But, if modesty didn’t prevent me, I would say that I’m in that thing that is even better than excellent shape.  But modesty  does prevent me, so I won’t.  I also notice that my humans seem to look a bit more, uhm, shall we say sleek than before I came to live with them.  Politeness stops me from saying that they needed to lose a bit of timber but, if it didn’t, I would say that they could do with losing even more of the ‘relaxed’ muscle.  But I can’t, so I won’t.  All this stuff I’m not allowed to do or say! Very frustrating.  Not right for a free spirit like me.  So, all in all, my coming to live with my humans has been a win, win situation.  I imagine that they are very, very thankful.  Well, wouldn’t you be?
